Ghapi has also performed in the U.K, Bahrain, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Swaziland.

The name of the band Ghapi comes from Phillip Botha's nickname - Guppy. As a baby Ghapi was very lively and his father renamed him after the busy little fish. "My new name must be as true to me as my hair and what better than my nickname? I adjusted the spelling so that the word is unique", says Ghapi.
Ghapi has been in the entertainment industry for 28 years. 15 years were spent performing in the band, Georgia. Ghapi also successfully manages his own record company, Rock Till You Drop Records.
Ghapi has achieved several accolades: He won the Huisgenoot Tempo Award for the Best Rock Group in 2006; He was nominated for the Vonk Oscar Awards in the categories: Best Newcomer; Best Single Music Video & Best Rock/Alternative Album. Ghapi has had 7 Top 10 hits, 4 of which have reached number one position!
